Meet the founder
W. Douglas Banks
Pastor, professor, speaker, and a thoughtful guide to the relationship between history, identity, and transformation.
Banks serves as Senior Pastor of St. Luke's Fellowship Church and teaches at Thomas Jefferson University, bringing theological reflection, leadership studies, sociology, psychology, and lived experience into the room.
Banks's work begins with a universal conviction: every person inherits more than DNA. We inherit stories, beliefs, wounds, triumphs, assumptions, and identities that influence how we see ourselves, relate to others, and imagine what is possible.
As a fifth great-grandson of Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings, he has spent his life wrestling with one of America's most complex family legacies. That experience is the origin of his work—not the definition of it—and it has shown him that even complicated histories can become places for deeper understanding, reconciliation, purpose, and hope.
